Academic Performance Index
During the 2007-2008 school year, our school Academic Performance Index (API) grew 44 points from 723 to 767! For three years, we have steadily increased from 680 to 767, a net gain of 87 points.
In Math and Science, we moved above and beyond the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) targets with 58% of all students scoring proficient or advance in Math and 43% scoring advance or proficient in Science.
In Language Arts, we exceeded the AYP target by 5 points with 38% of all students scoring advance and proficient. This year, we are placing emphasis on Language Arts with many new and exciting programs that will boost student proficiency in reading comprehension and writing.
Our goal is to increase beyond the AYP Language Arts target of 44.5% proficient and pass the 800 API goal. We are confident that we will make it!
