School Profile Description

    Arlington Heights ES, located in the historic Arlington Heights District of mid-city Los Angeles, first opened in 1910. With increasing enrollment over the years. the school has grown from one to three buildings; but at firs sight it appears to be part of a large educational complex. Immediately to the south is Los Angeles Trade School and adjacent to the main playground on the western boundary is Johnny Cochran Jr., Middle School. 
    As with all school within the Los Angeles Unified School District and the state of California, our curriculum is guided by state content standards. “Children First,” our school motto, is the affirmation that guides all decisions. Our learning community provides an environment that instills support and enrichment to meet the diverse needs of each child. As a team that believes in holistic education, we strive to build the foundation for “College Capable Cardinals” (the cardinal is our school mascot) to succeed as global world citizens.
