McREL (Mid-Continent Research for Educational and Learning)
McREL is a private, non-profit organization working to improve education (serving the 7 state Central Region of Colorado, Kansas, etc.) It also operates one of the 10 Regional Educational laboratories supported by the federal government. As such, they have a lot of worthwhile resources on: standards, lesson planning, assessment, and teaching strategies.
