Teacher Responsibilities
- Obtain and use an LAUSDnet district email account. Submit the
account user name for the school records
- Monitor and manage equipment in your classroom. Even if you
personally don't use an overhead projector, for example, check
regularly to see that it is in good working order and that students
have not damaged it.
- Report vandalism and theft ASAP to the Main Office and the
School
Police Office.
- Report repair needs to the appropriate source. Overhead
projects
report to LAUSD Central Shops, TVs and VCRs to LAUSD ITD, printers to
LAUSD ITD, and for computers either print out a report form here, or
pick one up in the Main Office.
- Monitor students using computers and other equipment
- Report supply needs to your Department Chair
- Hand over any items that have been issued to the room to the
incoming teacher. For example many rooms have cabinet keys, TV and VCR
remotes, printer cartridges, etc. that should be transfered to the
incoming teacher. Whatever has been issued to classrooms should stay
with the respective classroom. Leave your room in good shape for the
next teacher.
- Be aware of the resources on the school home page, your
department page, the Tech Help page, and the online Teacher Handbook.
- Be aware of an enforce school and district policies in
your
classroom, including the Dress Code, Code of Conduct, and the
Acceptable Use Policy (AUP--see
below).

ADMINISTRATOR/COORDINATOR Responsibilities
- Order items and supplies for your staff such as printer
cartridges, cables, paper, floppy disks, CD-RW disks, etc.

personally don't use equipment, check
regularly to see that it is in good working order.

Any computer, printer, software, or network problems should
be reported ASAP to LAUSD ITD.
You will be issued a reference number for each report. If you need help
in working with ITD or SIS, contact the Tech Coordinator AFTER you have
reported the issue and have a reference number. The Tech Coordinator
can work with you in some of the gray areas that ITD or SIS may not
address. But all requests for repairs for problems with already
installed computers and printer should go to ITD first. The supervisor
in each office is responsible for making sure trouble calls are
reported. You can either call ITD at (213 or 866) 633-8110, fax
their office at (323) 343-0114, or fill out the online ITD
Customer Support Request Form. For the SIS

- Make sure your staff is following the LAUSD
AUP
and not downloading or installing unauthorized software. All staff
members should have read and signed the Software
Policy and Code of Ethics.
