Quarter 1, Math Goals

Big Ideas: Patterns grow in predictable ways.  Objects can be sorted based on their common attributes.  Numbers can be represented in multiple ways.

·        Compare attributes (color, size, shape)

·        Identify patterns

·        Create and extend patterns

·        Describe patterns by referring to their attributes (color, shape, size)

·        Count numbers up to 5

·        Relate a number to a set of objects

·        Understand the magnitude of numbers (larger, smaller)
