We are now constantly immersed in digitized images, sounds and experiences. And we already take for granted these relatively new forms of communication as we easily view, upload and download, capture, edit, and produce media
This site is in development towards representing this dynamic arts content discipline, which we are seeking to formally establish in Los Angeles Unified School District in complement to the four “traditional” arts disciplines. Stay tuned for major developments as we move forward towards recognition and connection.
Current Projects and Events:
Draft Media Arts Standards - version 8 is now in an open window of local and national review and critique, until March 17.
Advisory Committee of community representatives from LAUSD, post-secondary, arts organizations, media industry, etc. is nearly complete, now with 14 members.
30 new Media Arts courses for Middle and High are in development, with accompanying “hybrid” courses in each arts discipline.
