It takes a group effort to provide a safe, nurturing, and academically rigorous learning environment. Multiple committees provide oversight over virtually all aspects of our school.


School Site Council (SSC)- The School Site Council (SSC) is composed of the principal, staff, parents, community members, and student representatives. The council is a decision-making body for major supplemental expenditures and programs targeted to increase student achievement. Go to the calendar section of this web site for upcoming meetings.


School Leadership Council (SLC)- Meets twice a month on Tuesdays. Go to the calendar section of this web site for upcoming meetings. The School Leadership Council (SLC) is composed of the principal, UTLA chapter chair, staff, parents, community members, and student representatives. The SLC works cooperatively to make decisions in five areas of the school program: staff development, student discipline, scheduling school activities and events, school equipment, and various budgetary matters. Any interested parent/community member is invited to attend SLC meetings.


English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)


Technology Committee- The Technology Committee is an Advisory committee. Functions of the committee include developing and proposing staff development in the use of technology, identifying technological needs at the school, distributing technology resources, reviewing proposed expenditures involving technology, managing technology resources and establishing policies as needed, and submitting requests for purchasing new technology to the appropriate committees. The technology committee meets Tuesdays on a monthly basis at 7:15 a.m.


Literacy Cadre- The literary cadre promotes literacy on campus.


PD Committee- The purpose of the PD is to identify staff development needs, make proposals to School Leadership Council regarding use of Banked Tuesdays and other PD time, and to implement and evaluate staff development.


Advisory Committee- Advisory committee plans the Advisory curriculum.


Instructional Cabinet- Instructional cabinet is a meeting of instructional leaders on campus, including administration, department chairs and academy facilitators. Instructional cabinet is a sounding board for current issues on campus, and is a vehicle for communicating to and receiving feedback from all staff.


Safety Committee- The safety committee creates the Safe School Plan.


Library Leadership Team (LLT)- The LLT works to ensure all students have access to a quality library media center program. At high schools the LLT is chaired by the Library Media Teacher. Activities of the LLT include guiding collection development, developing a vision and goals for the Library, and developing/reviewing written library policies and procedures. The LLT meets roughly once/month as needed.


Friends of NAHS - Friends of NAHS works to provide supplemental money for the school through fundraising.
