Overland Elementary School opened its doors in 1931. What was a neighborhood school then has now become a school for a advanced studies that includes students from throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Teachers, parents, students, and alumni, as well as the surrounding neighborhood and business community of the Los Angeles west side have enthusiastically worked toward building this distinguished academic school. This development has provided our children with opportunities for greater academic excellence and cultural diversity without losing the personal caring, nurturing, safety, and intimacy of a neighborhood school.
