Hideo is an accomplished artist who for years has used traditional materials–oils and canvas to create his art. Now, since attending the graphic designer course at VSC, he also creates his art on the computer – using Adobe Photoshop and a digital tablet. You can view Hideo's art as well as read his poetry (much of it inspired by his two years as a Russian prisoner of war during WWll) at his web site: www.hideonoda.com |

Yayoi Lena Winfrey is a Japanese and African American writer, publisher, filmmaker, metaphysician and visual artist. After graduating from the Art Institute of Seattle in 1985, she began a freelance career as a fashion illustrator and graphic designer. However, as the demand for computer-based art grew, Yayoi turned to journalism as a new vocation. Yayoi was twice-nominated for excellence in writing awards, but she never gave up art entirely and, in 2000, won third prize in a citywide art competition in Seattle. Excited about entering the visual arts field again, Yayoi enrolled in the Venice Skills Center's graphic design program. Her whimsical design was chosen for the cover of the school's fall '07 class schedule.
