In this WebQuest, students in Spanish 3, grades 10 through 12, will research about one of the most celebrated cultural traditions in Mexico and the Southwestern United States called The Day of the Dead. This day of remembrance is to honor deceased family members and friends by "inviting" them to "return home." , The celebration begins on November 1st and ends on November 2nd.

Introduction

Imagine your family is from Mexico.  You have been designated to celebrate the life of a deceased relative as part of your family´s annual Day of the Dead celebrations.  In order to do this, you must first research to understand the history, traditions, and cultural activities surrounding Día de los Muertos.  You will use the information you gather to create a unique presentation honoring the life of your deceased relative in a uniquely Mexican way.  Read on to find out more!
