Standards for Foreign Language Learning

 

            Communication:

 

1.1             Students engage in conversation, provide and obtain information and exchange opinions.

 

1.2             Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics.

 

1.3             Students present information and ideas to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics.

 

            Cultures:

 

2.1             Students demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the practices and perspectives of the culture studied.

 

            Connections:

 

3.2             Students acquire information and recognize the distinctive viewpoints that are available only through the foreign language and its cultures.

Standards for Information Literacy

                        Standard 3:  The student who is information literate                                              uses information accurately and creatively

                                    3.2  Synthesizes information from a variety of sources.

                                    3.3  Organizes information using concept webs, outlines,                                             charts, or other graphic organizers.

                                    3.4  Draws conclusions regarding findings.

                    Standard 8:  The student who is information literate contributes                                          positively to the learning community and to society                                          and practices ethical behavior in regard to information                                          and information technology.

                                    8.9  Understands and avoids plagiarism

                                    8.10 Cites Sources and quotations using standard bibliographic                                              format.
