Mrs. Mirtha McKay, Chief of Staff
As Chief of Staff, it is my role to support the implementation of major reform initiatives to ensure that we serve our students best. As a Local District Fellow for the Institute for Learning from the University of Pittsburgh, I have focused my efforts on training the educational leadership teams of our schools, Principals and UTLA Chapter Chairs.
One of my top priorities is to ensure that the needs of our students are met as we support the various programs in which they participate (program for English Language Learners, Gifted, Special Education, etc.).
In District K we work collaboratively with parents and with the various councils that support our communities. As a result, we have offered five parent conferences on Literacy and Mathematics where over 500 parents were in attendance.
