Beyond the Bell Applies for 21st Century Grants

Beyond the Bell is diligently working to establish more after school programs at new sites throughout the Los Angeles area and to expand some existing programs.  As a part of this effort, new grants for funding are being submitted to the 21 st Century Community Learning Centers program of the California Department of Education to support academic and enrichment programming, as well as family literacy activity for parents and families of after school students.  If successful, we expect to be able to serve several thousand more students beginning in Fall 2008 for five years through 2013.  Check back during the summer of 2008 to see if there are new after school seats for elementary, middle and high school students in your neighborhood.

Welcome
LAUSD has made a commitment that all students within our district have access to high quality, safe and supervised educational, enrichment and recreational programs that engage and inspire learning and achievement beyond the regular school day.

Beyond the Bell (BTB) Branch carries that commitment by connecting students and youth to their home, school and community through a variety of programs that are provided and operated by the school district and its partner agencies before and after school and on Saturdays.
