What is Mentoring?

Mentoring is one of the oldest and most dynamic forms of education. The word “mentor” comes from the ancient Greek epic poem “The Odyssey” by Homer. Mentor was Odysseus’s trusted friend whom he left behind to take care of his wife and to raise his young son Telemachus. Mentors, who are usually older and more experienced practitioners, guide and encourage novices in developing their skills. (Learn more…)
