Welcome to the District Intern
Program website.
Thank you for your interest in the
Los Angeles Unified School District.
The District Intern Program is an alternative route to
earn a teaching credential and has a long successful history
of training teachers to effectively prepare our students to
reach their highest potential.
It is a rigorous, three-year teacher training program
that enables participants to earn a multiple subject, multiple
subject bilingual, single subject, or education specialist
Preliminary and Professional Clear credential while teaching.
There is also a two-year option for general education
credentialed teachers who wish to move to Special Education.
The teachers enrolled in the programs are fully supported by
mentors, support providers, and program staff as they move
through the process. Participants also earn salary points that
move them on the salary scale.
If
you are currently enrolled in the District Intern Program -
WELCOME!
You are about to embark on the most important
educational opportunity of your life - TEACHING!
We
hope, as a District Intern, you will use this website as a
valuable resource to progress through the program.
Success to each of you!
