Thank
you in advance for your participation in providing students
with transition lessons, services and activities as
they begin planning for their life after school. Through
this curriculum, students will gain the confidence,
resources and direction to make better decisions for
their future.
The Learn to Earn program is based on
Assessment, Self-Advocacy Skills, Career Skills, Career
Awareness Activities and Work Based Learning Experiences.
The Learn to Earn curriculum lessons can be considered
as part of each student's transition activities as reported
in the transition section (ITP) of the IEP document.
Your instruction will empower students to make more
informed choices to successfully transition from school
to adult life.
Your continuing effort in preparing our
students for their future is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
DONNALYN JAQUE-ANTÓN
Associate Superintendent, Special Education
Standards Matrix
This is a user friendly matrix for teachers
to easily identify the specific grade level standards
correlated to the Learn to Earn lessons. The foundation
of this “Learn to Earn Standards Matrix” is designed
to support the grade level California
English Language Arts Content Standards. However,
the Learn to Earn curriculum is not literature based,
therefore we could not correlate the Learn to Earn lessons
to any standards in the Reading Domain.
The Learn to Earn lessons are left open-ended
to allow teachers to make additions and/or modifications
on the lessons based upon the level of their students
in their classroom.
The Learn to Earn Standards Matrices are
available in pdf format and may be accessed by clicking
on the links above or in the right-hand box on this
page. Please note that the 11th/12th Grade matrix is
currently under development and will be available shortly.
