Life After High School Fair
12th Annual Collaborative Fair – North LA County Regional Center & LAUSD DOTS
This is an one-a-year opportunity for students ages 15-21 with developmental disabilities and their families to learn about the wide variety of programs, services, and supports available to students after high school. Come and explore educational opportunities, vocational choices, employment opportunities, day program options, and living options. This event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Health Education Center, 15107 Vanowen St., Van Nuys. Visit any time between 6:30p.m. and 8:00p.m. Free parking; but be sure to get a parking coupon at the event. Spanish interpreters will be available. The Building Trades Career Fair
The Southern California Coordinators Association, with members representing union apprenticeship programs in the building trades covering Southern California, will hold a career fair to provide information on various construction trades apprenticeship programs. The fair will be held on April 18, 2008, from 10:00a.m.-1:00p.m., at the Electrical Training Institute on 6023 S. Garfield Ave, City of Commerce, CA 90040. District provided transition services for high school leavers
Los Angeles Unified School District, Division of Adult & Career Education, Disability Support Program (DSP) provides an array of post-secondary services to students with disabilities, who had exited high school, to ensure a smooth transition from school to the adult world. "College Prepared-Career Ready" Television Broadcase
KLCS program “College Prepared-Career Ready” will be broadcast on the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, Monday, January 21, 2008, at 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. This program provides LAUSD secondary students and their families with information that will assist them in learning that higher education is affordable and accessible to all students and their families. Financial aid topics such as types of financial aid, eligibility, residency requirements, filing deadlines, and special circumstances will be discussed.
