TO ALL VERDUGO HILLS HIGH SCHOOL BAND SUPPORTERS:
The Verdugo Hills High School marching band and colorguard
will be competing in the Tournament of Champions invitational.
This prestigious event will take place on December 7, 2002
at the Santa Ana Bowl. I was informed by the event sponsor
that this will be the first time in the history of the tournament
that any Los Angeles school is invited to participate. This
year's tournament will host only two LAUSD schools (Verdugo
Hills and Granada Hills). Our band has been working extremely
hard and long hours in order to represent their school and
community to the best of their ability and would really
appreciate it if we could count on your support. The tournament
will begin at 10:45 am. Traffic and parking will be time
consuming so it would be wise to plan to be there by 10:00
am. The entrance fee is $8.00 and parking is $5.00. I guarantee
that it will be a worthwhile experience to see our students
participate in this event. The Santa Ana Bowl is located
off the 55-freeway south at the corner of Bristol and Civic
Center Drive.
