HISTORY
Gage Middle School, originally Irvington Elementary School, opened its doors to pupils of the Huntington Park Community in the early 1920s. In 1932 the school was renamed Henry T. Gage Elementary School in recognition of the 20th Governor of California, Henry Tifft Gage. In 1951 it officially became a junior high school with a student population of 500. The school has grown and now serves a student population of more than 3,800. Gage became a year-round school in 1980. Since 1984 the school has operated on a Concept-6 (three track) Calendar for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.
