Quality Teachers - Northridge Academy High School has a very dedicated and highly competent teaching staff. At our school we have many teachers with advanced degrees and several National Board Certified Teachers. Many of our teachers have served or are serving as Master Teachers for CSUN education students, and our school is a clinical site for the CSUN College of Education.

Small School = Better Coordination - Curriculum Mapping, ensuring that all students are learning the same information without unnecessary repetition, is easier at small schools like ours. For instance, our entire English 9 teaching team is comprised of three teachers. This has allowed us to quickly roll out school-wide programs, such as our Grade 9 Research curriculum, coordinated by our Library Media Teacher.

Technology-aided instruction- Classrooms are equipped with a ceiling mounted LCD projector. In-wall wiring connects four ceiling mounted speakers, one microphone and one camera to the LCD projector. Teachers have the ability to display images from their computer, VCR, DVD player, or camera. Multiple computers labs and wireless laptop carts are available during the school day for whole-class use. Learn more about our technology.

UC/CSU A-G requirements - All students have access to a rigorous curriculum that meets both UC/CSU A-G subject requirements in addition to high school graduation requirements.

Pierce College Classes - NAHS students have the ability to take college classes at NAHS and earn both college units and high school credits. Even better, tuition fees are waived! Multiple Pierce college courses are offered after-school on the NAHS campus each semester.

Honors Challenge Program - Through the Honors Challenge Program, students in most of our core content courses are able to earn Honors credit for completion of challenging work, based on a contract that requires fulfillment of a rigorous set of requirements.

Advanced Placement Courses- AP courses are typically taken by students in grades 10-12. These courses allow motivated high school students an opportunity to take college-level courses in a high school setting. Students who participate in AP courses not only gain college-level skills, but in many cases they also earn college credit while they are still in high school. We offer the following AP courses: Biology; World History/Geography; English Language; Chemistry; US History; Spanish Language; Spanish Literature; U.S. Government; Environmental Science and Calculus AB.
